Guest stays
Issue a stay code so a guest can book directly from their room.
A stay code is a 6-character code that unlocks the guest booking app for one room, for one guest, with no account or app download needed. Hotel admins manage stay codes from /hotel/stays.
Issuing a code
Create a stay with the guest's first name and room number. Masihambe generates the code — hand it to the guest at check-in (on the room key wallet, a printed card, however works at your front desk).
The guest enters the code once at masihambe.com/guest, and it's remembered on their device after that.
What the guest can do
Everything the guest sees is scoped to that one stay: your hotel's catalogue of guest-facing experiences, their own bookings, and their vouchers. They can't see other guests' bookings, and they can't see anything from another hotel.
Ending a stay
When the guest checks out, end the stay from /hotel/stays. This deactivates the code immediately — the guest loses access to the booking app, and the code can't be reused. Issue a new stay (and a new code) for the next guest in that room.
A note on security
A stay code is deliberately lightweight — it's meant to be handed over at a front desk, not to protect anything highly sensitive. Treat it like a room key: hand it to the guest it belongs to, and end the stay promptly at checkout.
